This steampunk turtle brooch, would make the perfect addition to any coat, scarf, hat, or cosplay outfit. Metallic shades of brass and gold, give this turtle brooch an industrial feel.
The brooch measures 4.5cm point to point, and is backed with a secure pin, to ensure safe wearing (image of a different brooch but the same clasp is used).
Why I work with Resin
Resin is a truly versatile medium to work with, and can be used to encase something beautiful like a flower or pine cone which often needs no other additions to make a stunning piece of jewellery, or decorative item for the home. Used as a coating to seal a piece of art made with different mediums, it adds a super shiny, glass like finish. Metal leaf can add a touch of luxury, and the range of colour pigments is so extensive. Here I have used mica powder brushed into the mould before pouring the black resin in to really set off the colours.
Taking inspiration from everywhere - from the botanicals I find on my dog walks, to watch parts, buttons, shells, and of course glitter - in order to make creations to put smiles on the faces of both those gifting and receiving my work.
Every item is intended to be unique, unless a bespoke order of multiples are requested. One off designs can be made for you, including gifts, keepsakes, and memorial pieces, drop me a message here to discuss.
You can keep up to date, and find other examples of my work, on my social media platforms. I have accounts on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Other items include clocks, decorated wooden boxes, earrings and pendants, paw print and letter keyrings.
ResinExpectations is a small, home based craft business, in Surrey, England.
